The Orc War Campaigns – Mid-Season Hiatus

Hey everyone!

I am excited to announce that the fifth episode of The Orc War Campaigns, “The Siege of Valaras,” is now online!  Check it out, and let me know what you think!

Will Arkad successfully capture Valaras and its Forge District, or can Amaya and her team hold them off long enough for reinforcements?  Will Zerek ever find out the name of the mysterious thief?  And is there more to Endel than meets the eye?  There’s only one way to find out – go read episode 5!  :)

Unfortunately, I must also announce that The Orc War Campaigns is officially on a mid-season hiatus.  There are two reasons behind this decision.

The first is that I have fallen behind on final preparations for the release of Burning Skies.  With a planned end-of-May release, I still am going through one final proofread, and I have work to do on the cover.  I also need to start ramping up the pre-release campaign on here, which will include excerpts from the novel for all of you :)

Second is that I just cannot keep up with the demanding schedule the series needs, plus keep up with work, and resume some semblance of a normal life at home.

When I first started posting The Orc War Campaigns, I had 3 episodes finished.  By the time I posted that third episode, I hadn’t even finished writing episode 4!!  Much of this is due to the difficult times in my life back then, but it really is a demanding schedule I set for myself.

So, while this decision was not an easy one to make, I think in the long run it will be worth it.  I cannot allow myself to become burned out, but I still must keep to the release schedule for Burning Skies (or the fans might lynch me.  I am still asked on a near-weekly basis when it is coming out! :) )

I apologize for this, and yes, it does mean that The Orc War Campaigns will not finish before the release of Burning Skies.  But ultimately I think this is the best decision I can make at this time.

Thank you all so much for your support and patience.  I can’t wait to finish the series for you all, and I can’t wait to get Burning Skies into your hands!  :D

(PS: the next blog post will finally be about my adventure at Starfest :) )
